What makes the WESTPORT DMA different from the Westport Chamber of Commerce?
The WESTPORT DMA:
- actively and regularly promotes its Members and Association events in media advertising;
- sponsors and manages Westport’s largest annual family events each year – the Fine Arts Festival on Main Street;
- manages beautification and other design projects in Downtown Westport;
- offers affordable Membership Rates
- manages a convenient and efficient trash removal service for its members on Main Street.
As an organization, how is the WESTPORT DMA managed?
A Board of Directors directs the business affairs, policies and general management of the WESTPORT DMA. Each Director is elected by a majority vote of the Membership. Board members are volunteers and included Westport business owners, managers and civic leaders.
What are the Core Values of the Westport DMA?
- Support its members organization through advertising, marketing and promotional events
- Confront issues of beautification, parking, town planning, etc.
- Create a strong and vibrant shopping environment, not only functional but beautiful to attract shoppers and tourist
- Generate an aligned organization with true value to attract new businesses to Downtown Westport
Who are Westport DMA’s target Markets?
The WESTPORT DMA has two target markets:
- To support and attract members to the Westport DMA
- To invite new and returning consumers to Downtown Westport
What are the key Benefits of supporting the Westport DMA and what make it different than other organizations?
The Westport DMA delivers several primary benefits to its members:
- Support its members in the growth of new business to increase merchants’ revenue and also recruit new members through membership incentives and packages
- The Westport DMA targets regional and local consumers through local and regional advertising, events and promotions, advocating spending more time/money shopping and dining and enjoying Downtown Westport
- Working with Town of Westport on all matters relating to improved parking, signage, beautification, landscaping and welcoming visitors.
How can I apply to become a WESTPORT DMA Member and how long does it take to join?
Membership application is managed by our Membership Director. Acceptance is subject to approval by the Board of the WESTPORT DMA. The Board meets monthly.
What does it cost to become a member?
There are two different levels of membership. Each is defined by either the size of your business and/or your geographic location:
MEMBERSHIP LEVEL A. $150/yr.
Businesses with one (1) or more locations and have a business address outside the Westport Downtown area ZONE but within the boundaries of the Town of Westport.
